We are therefore seeking experienced two Near Chartered Structural Engineers to join our teams in our Chorley office. This opportunity is within a multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy, providing experience on projects across a range of sectors.

The Role

To manage and deliver Engineering Consultancy Services, utilising your leadership and mentoring skills to develop and guide Junior Engineers and maintain excellent customer relationships.

To lead and manage resources, ensuring projects are delivered successfully on time and within budget. Undertaking inspections of building structures and writing reports is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Structural engineering work, including design, site work, and report writing
  • Delivery conformant to relevant Codes of Practice, Design Guides, and the Building Safety Act 2022
  • Producing detailed structural calculations, sketches, drawings, and specifications
  • Preparing technical reports and project documentation, specifications and risk assessments
  • Carrying out site visits to ensure construction aligns with design specifications
  • Training and development of junior staff within the company in the area of your expertise
  • Supporting the commercial aspects of projects, including cost estimates and budgeting

About You

We are seeking self-motivated individuals who are eager to take on new challenges, continually develop their skills, and contribute to the growth of our team.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Minimum five years’ experience in structural design
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D design software
  • Strong understanding of Eurocode design for steel, reinforced concrete, and masonry
  • Experience in report writing and preparing structural calculations
  • Commercial awareness of project costs, budgets, and quotations

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of STAAD.Pro, SCIA, and Revit
  • Project management and leadership experience
  • Chartered Status (CEng, MIStructE or MICE)
